2 weeks old ALREADY!

Where have the past two weeks gone?? Time is flying by! We went home from the hospital Sunday, April 18th around 1pm - just in time to run to the airport to go pick up my mom. I was surprised they let us leave the hospital after just 2 1/2 days - and they even let me WALK out! No wheelchair! On Tuesday, the 20th, we took Emma to the doctor for her checkup (at 4 days old), and she was already back to 7 lbs 9.5 oz. She'd gotten down to 7 lbs 4 oz by Saturday evening, so she was doing great! During the first week, my mom and I took Emma and Drew to the grocery, Target, and on a walk around the block. On the weekend, we all went to the park and Babies R Us. She is a very adaptable baby and just goes with the flow! By the second week she was doing really well with sleeping at night. Around 10pm to midnight was her rough time where she wanted to be awake and fight sleep a little. But then she would sleep 2-3 hours at a time before waking to eat...and go right back to sleep!! However, last night we had her sleep in her crib for the first time - and she slept GREAT! She went down by 11pm and woke up at 3am to eat and went right back to sleep until 7am! Now I can handle that - please tell me it's not just a newborn phase! Here are some pictures of this little girl. She looks so cute her in "shoe" socks!

We were trying to get creative with pictures and had her by our beautiful blooming azalea bushes, but it didn't work out so well - so I just cropped them out.

Drew gets really excited about tummy time and gets down on the floor with Emma and Daddy. And Emma doesn't really mind being on her tummy!

Here's those little eyes that we saw so little of the first week or so. Now she has quite a bit of awake and alert time. I think her eyes look blueish like Drew's did, but who knows at this point.

Here's a video of Emma, awake and moving around. She grunts and moves those arms around a lot, but luckily she rarely cries...unless she's late for a meal!

Here's the kids with their Grandmom and Granddad. Drew is saying "cheeeeeese!" like always! Drew got to really bond with them while Chad and I were at the hospital. Thanks again to them for stepping in and taking care of Drew for us! My mom was supposed to, but she came down with a horrible stomach bug that delayed her trip down here for a few days.

But once she got here, Drew loved having Grandma here for two weeks! Here they are blowing bubbles. However, he naturally began siding with Grandma and didn't want to listen to mommy since mommy brought home that little baby! I think he'll quickly get over that and realize we're still buddies!

Here's that skinny little baby - we have to have a picture of that before she chunks up!

And here's a family shot when Emma is exactly 2 weeks old...and Drew is 2 yrs, 2 mos and 2 weeks old! I think once I figure out this sling, Emma will really like it. I'm hoping it allows me to still do all the stuff Drew wants to do (park, splash pad, etc.) while carting Emma along too.

Here's the kids and their Grandma and Grandpa. My Dad arrived Friday evening, and then my parents left Saturday morning. My grandmother is sick and they couldn't both be gone for very long. But Drew sure was glad to see his Grandpa for that short amount of time. And I'm glad they both got to meet Emma!

Today was our first day as just our family of four! We headed out to Jetton Park to walk a lap around the 1.5 mile trail (trying to sweat off those last 10 pounds! it was a hot 80+ degrees!). Then we made a stop at the playground. Here's Mommy and Emma trying to stay in the shade.

And Drew enjoyed having Daddy at the park - he gets to do things that pregnant, and now recovering, Mommy couldn't help him do!
