Happy Earth Day!! (and some videos)

Happy Earth Day!! (Drew has his "protect our planet" shirt on!! :)

Drew has eaten Wacky Mac (veggie pasta) before - but just a few pieces. But we turned it into a game where we clap after every bite - and he'll eat a whole plate full!! I tried it with his waffle this morning, and it worked for a piece or two... We'll keep trying! Here's a video of the "game."

When Chad's parents were visiting last weekend, we turned on Drew's music and danced - and Drew started twirling. I especially like how he puts one arm in the air!! I later found out that they dance like this in childwatch at the Y! haha! Tonight he even pointed at the stereo speaker for us to turn on the music and dance. Here's a video from earlir this week of the twirler!

He's on the run...almost!

Chad's parents visited on Sunday. I think he got on a sugar high with his snacks, b/c he acted a little nutty and hyper for a little bit while they were here - very silly! He loves his granddad - here's a picture of him bursting with the anticipation of Granddad getting his belly.

Then here's one of Grandmom helping him with his train.

It's so nice that there's still daylight when Drew and I get home from work in the evenings now! He is happiest if he's outside! And he gets around SO FAST now! It's not quite a run...but close! And our yard is not the easiest to get around in - there's hills, dirt patches, nuts and acorns, etc.- but he doesn't have much problem getting to wear he wants to go. Here's a video of him roaming the yard.

Here he is peeking around a tree! He loves to peek - he'll go into the other room and hide behind the doorway and then peek out and laugh!

And here he is mowing the lawn and garden hose. :)

Posing with Mommy!
Posing with Daddy!
Some other Drew News:
* He has been repeating a lot of words after us (or at least trying) and he is always babbling. Some words come out really clear! Also, he is signing "all done," "milk," and "more."
* His current favorite foods are grapes, cantaloupe, bananas, applesauce, animal crackers, and sometimes green beans and wacky mac noodles (but not always).
* He will finish his third session of Waterbabies swim classes tomorrow!
* He is cutting his 11th tooth (top right molar) - we've had a couple rough nights with this one!
* He now loves to walk with me everywhere (to and from the car at home and at the Y), all around the Y, at the mall (although, I keep him in his stroller and just let him get out every now and then to move around), at the park, etc.
* He knows where his hair/head is, where his hat goes, where is ear is, where his shoes/feet are, and sometimes where his belly button is. And I love to hear him try to say belly button! We're working on nose, mouth, eyes and all those words too!
* He recently started turning his hands up and babbling questions (where his voice rises). He says "what's that?" and "where'd it go?" - but it can be hard to understand sometimes - but we know what he's saying!!
* He has started stacking things now - instead of waiting for us to stack them so he could knock them down

Happy birthday, Lyndsey!

Drew is getting better at pushing his train. We're trying to teach him the "one finger" technique. He's more interested in rearranging the tracks though!

Today is Drew's cousin Lyndsey's 11th birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We miss you!

We kept an eye on our neighbor's mail and house while the were in Disney World - and they brought Drew a Mickey Mouse!! Here he is giving it hugs!

Easter with Grandma and Grandpa

We had a wonderful Easter! My parents came down for the weekend, the weather was perfect, and we had a great time. We walked at the park and let Drew swing. We played Baggo outside while Drew explored the yard and played with his Easter eggs, leaves, and his new wagon and garden tools. He's getting much better at walking on the uneven ground outside - I'll have to catch that on video later. On Easter we walked at another park -and Drew slept through most of it! But he woke up just in time to meet some dogs on their way to the dog park. We stood and watched all the dogs playing - I'd never actually seen a dog park. A guy with two American Bulldogs stopped and let us pet them - very cute!! I think Drew liked them too! At night, after Drew went to bed, we played some Wii and "went bowling" - lots of fun! Although, I think the most fun thing out of the whole weekend (at least for Drew!) was the wagon rides down our hill!! Here's a video - and listen for Drew's giggling all the way down!!

Here's a picture to show just how far down he travels! Hope Grandpa stops him before he goes in the road! This little guy is a dare devil and wanted more, more, more!

Of course, they had to keep dragging him back UP the hill too!

Here he is playing with his Easter eggs in the yard. They were such a hit - we might have to keep them out a little past Easter!

Here's my parents and Chad playing Baggo - very fun game!

Drew playing with his Grandma!

He looked pretty cute in his shirt my parents brought him. And he really liked the garden rake they brought - anything to play in the dirt with!

Here's Drew on Easter morning discovering his new train set! (Thank you to Victor and Vicky for giving it to us - he loves it!!)

Here's Drew walking at the park with Grandpa. He wants to walk EVERYWHERE now! He looks so little in this picture!

Thanks Mom and Dad for spending Easter with us! Good byes are so much harder now with Drew around - he misses his grandma and grandpa already!! (Simon was acting odd today - I think he misses you too!)

Couple videos of Drew

Here's our smart little guy, who has been learning a lot lately. He got a little distracted with the snaps on the bottoms of his jeans so we didn't get to show all his "tricks." I'm sure we'll capture them later. :)

And this little video is for my family in Indiana - I think only they will appreciate this special talent of Drew's. :) I'm hoping he can do the gobbling himself soon.

We went to Raleigh this weekend to visit Grant, Sherry and Olivia. Drew hadn't seen his cousin since his birthday party. Grandmom, Granddad, Nana and the Easter bunny showed up too. The kids got bunnies as big as they are, some clothes and push lawn mowers. Drew has been pushing his all over the house. Maybe I can attach a wet, soapy rag and our floors would be clean in no time! Here's a video.

Grant and Sherry's good friends Sara and Randy stopped by with their daughter Gracie. The last time these three babies were together, Drew and Gracie were learning to sit up on their own and Olivia was just weeks old! Now look at them go!

Here's the future Hell's Angels!

Drew's checking the bark quality. It's different than at our park.
Peeking through the tunnel!

After the park, we went to see Grant's brand new office. It's pretty awesome! Even the kids enjoyed playing with some of the equipment.
Olivia received her first physical therapy session from Dr. Grant. :)

At the end of the day we got a quick picture of the two cousins together!

Drew playing outside

Drew's telling his dad that the grass is itchy and he needs to mow!
Drew is learning how to go down stairs. He will sit and turn to go backwards.

Here he is playing "retriever." I asked him to get his train and he went off looking for it and brought it to me! I still want to try to get a video of this game sometime soon - it's pretty funny!

Drew is getting much better at walking around outside w/o falling down so much. He LOVES to be outside and everything around him interests him. We brought a ball outside to play with him...but he wasn't interested. We got a litte volleyball game going...while Drew played with a leaf! Here's a video of him walking down his sidewalk and getting sidetracked by some mulch.
