He's TWO already!

We have a TWO YEAR OLD!! Where has time gone? And it's so hard to believe that in two short months, we'll have another infant in the house! We're getting really excited about that! Even Drew - he points at my belly and hugs it and says, "sister." And if I ask him why she can't come out yet, he'll say, "bigger," meaning that she needs to get bigger first! I took Drew to his 2 year doctor visit today. He is 36 1/2 inches tall - 92nd percentile! And he was a little over 28 pounds, which puts him in the 55th percentile. And his head was in the 60th percentile. So, we've still got a tall, slender little man! No shots this visit, and I opted to not test his food allergies. The doctor felt that they probably would not have changed much in the past 6 months, and I plan on switching doctors before Emma arrives - and I want to get more info at that time. Here's Drew posing for his TWO YEAR OLD picture!

And then I told him to give me his cheesiest smile ever!

And here's Drew on his FIRST birthday! He's grown up so much in the past year!

Our well rounded guy

Drew is becoming a sports guy! He begs Chad to go out in the garage so he can play basketball and ride his big wheel. And he'll even ask Chad to turn it to golf on tv! I think he'll have a lot of fun this summer playing outside. Here's a video of him making a jump shot out in the garage...and apparently he wants to play for IU!

And then he invented this game all on his own. He's got a pretty mean badminton swing! I started to yell at him to stop (b/c he might pop his balloon)...but then I felt like most Colts fans would appreciate this.

And it's not all about JUST sports. Drew is a well rounded guy. Here he is playing with a toy horn (from the goody bags at his party) and practicing his band marching!

And he really loves swimming...even if it's just in the bathtub for now. Whenever we tell him it's bathtime, he immediately gets excited and says, "swimming and drinking!" "Swimming" means laying on his belly and kicking his legs around. And "Drinking" means dipping his face in the bubbles and water. And it's funny because when he says it, it sounds like "women and drinking!"

Birthday party

Drew had a wonderful birthday! We decided to keep it simple, and I borrowed a preschool table and chairs from the Y - we covered it will a Thomas the Train table cloth and had Thomas goody bags for the kids, Thomas napkins and plates, and a Thomas cake. I even laid out Thomas coloring pages on the table with crayons for the kids to color. Since we realized that Drew wasn't interested in eating birthday cake, I ordered a store one for everyone else to enjoy. And I made him some cupcakes that he could eat...but he still turned them down. Oh well! I didn't capture any pictures of him blowing out the candles, but he definitely knew what to do! As soon as the lit candles were in front of him, he blew them out! So, we relit them several times and he'd clap for himself! And he was singing, "haaaaaaapy, Dreeeeewwwww!" Here are the kids sitting down for cake and goody bags.

Drew enjoyed a sucker! He slobbered all over his shirt! Then all the kids helped Drew open presents. There's Leif, Drew, Sofia, Olivia and me. A couple kids weren't able to make it to the party, but this turned out to be a good number of little ones.

Olivia gave Drew several birthday hugs - very cute!!

Drew and Olivia got wound up playing with their Granddad. Here they are playing a little hide n' seek.

Then the next morning Chad helped Drew set up some of his new toys.

He was also excited to see the Thomas table was still set up! Here he is coloring one of the leftover pages.

Indiana Trip

Chad started a new job today! After he accepted the offer, he had a week until his start date, so we took a quick trip to Indiana. We figured with the baby on the way, and limited vacation time with his new job, we wouldn't be traveling for awhile. We were a little nervous about the weather, but it ended up not being a problem.

The day after we got there, the crew that's building my parents' new kitchen started digging the big hole for the room. Julie had to bring Parker and Will over to see the back hoe and bulldozer at work. The boys loved watching the action! It was amazing how close the machines got to the back door!

Then on Friday, it snowed and sleeted and left the trees looking beautiful!

Despite the crazy weather, Marc, Sarah, Tim and Lyndsey were still able to come over for a little birthday party for Drew and to play some Famiy Feud. Here's Drew getting ready to blow out the candles on his cake. My mom made an egg- and milk-free cake just for Drew...and he was terrified of it! It was worth a try though! He did enjoy everyone singing to him (he now sings, "Haaaaaaaaaappy, Dreeeeeeew!" all the time) and blowing out the candles.

Later, Drew got to hang out with Lyndsey, who he LOVES! They played Hide n' Seek, read books, played with all the toys that were around - they were busy! Here they are reading together.

And he got to color with his Aunt Sarah.

He has had a few masterpieces on his doodle pros. I think they are usually by accident, but I can't tell. He was busy on this one, and then held it up for everyone and said, "hellicopter!" Not too bad!!

Drew is amazing in the car on our 9 hour trips to and from Indiana. He seriously did not cry or whine once either way! He gets a little panicky when he has to go to the bathroom (doesn't want to go while sitting in his carseat), but he was easily distracted. He slept about 30 minutes on our way to Indiana and maybe one hour on our way back home. Here he is on our way home in his Colts gear. We got home just in time to watch the Super Bowl!

Our trip home was very pretty - the ground was covered in snow just about the whole way! But the roads were just fine.

Here's one of the three tunnels that we go through - of course those are Drew's favorites!
